Elegant and stylish Amsterdam Bed and Breakfast
Your hostess Lesley Marsh
After formal training in Switzerland and a lifelong career in the Hotel business, being home with two growing children and experimenting with cooking led Lesley to open a cooking school (Cooks Company) in the Gooi region of Holland in 1989. During this time she also took on outside catering for private dinner parties, weddings and parties.
She then moved to India where she worked as free lance executive chef for two consecutive Dutch Ambassadors. During this period she also gave training to chefs of the Oberoi Group of Hotels.
Lesley returned to Amsterdam in the winter of 2005 and bought Aemstelhuys the following year.
Aemstelhuys was built in 1780 and is a State Monument. This beautifully restored town house covers four floors and an “achterhuis” – a house at the back.
The bedrooms all have en suite bathrooms. Two of the rooms have beds which can be separated into two singles.
Puddy and Soxy the two cats are also a part of the household.
